Elia Olivares, PhD, CCC-SLP, is a highly experienced Speech-Language Pathologist with 25+ years of experience in diagnosing and treating pediatric communication disorders. She has dedicated her career to improving the lives of children with speech, language and social communication challenges.

With a diverse background spanning university clinics, school districts, teletherapy and home-based services, Dr. Olivares brings a well-rounded perspective to speech and language assessment and intervention. Her extensive clinical practice has allowed her to work with children of all ages, addressing a wide range of communication disorders, including speech sound disorders such as articulation, phonological disorders, childhood apraxia of speech; spoken language disorders, learning disabilities, selective mutism, and other medical and developmental conditions such as Autism spectrum disorders.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Olivares has a strong foundation in higher education, having served as a Clinical Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Director of Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Programs, Speech Language Pathology Program Director AND mentor for hundreds of future speech- language pathologists. Her experience in academia has expanded from teaching a number of different courses (over 16 different courses at both the graduate and undergraduate level) but also working locally, nationally, and internationally with colleagues across the world. As an expert in developing culturally and linguistically responsive courses, her experience has enabled her to bridge the gap between research and practice, ensuring that her therapeutic approaches are grounded in the latest evidence-based strategies for ALL children.

Passionate about collaboration, Dr. Olivares values working closely with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to create individualized, functional communication plans that support a child's success in everyday life. Whether through in-person sessions or teletherapy, or in the university classroom, "Dr. O" is committed to providing high quality, accessible care that helps children find their voice and reach their full potential.
